## Product facts

- OwlEye is a managed hosted product. Customers do not operate the API or analytics databases.
- The browser SDK writes no cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage.
- SDK requests omit browser credentials and suppress the referrer header.
- Query strings and URL fragments are excluded by default.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honored by default.
- Raw IP addresses are not stored in analytics facts.
- Visitor measurement uses keyed, site-scoped pseudonymous aggregates derived server-side after IP minimisation.
- ClickHouse stores high-volume analytics facts; SQLite stores account and application metadata.
- Public event ingestion is separated from authenticated console APIs.
- Owners can manage apps, members, rules, dashboards, funnels, developer keys, privacy settings, AI allocations, and subscriptions through server-authorized APIs.
- Empty or failed analytics queries are never replaced with sample traffic.
- Local loopback allowances support development only; this service has no runtime edition switch.

## Privacy and compliance posture

Technical controls can support GDPR, UK GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, LGPD, PIPL, and APPI programs, but OwlEye does not claim automatic compliance or certification. Customers still need an appropriate lawful basis, notice, purpose and data minimisation decisions, retention choices, rights handling, contracts, transfer safeguards, and security operations.
